Decisions

Based upon cost, timeframe, and management requirements, it was decided to acquire six client copies and one server copy of FileMaker Pro Version 8 Advance. From the research, this database (DB) seems to meet and go beyond our requirements. One attractive feature was it’s versatility to work on multiple platforms and the speed development could be accomplished.

Learning

An expedited purchase was made with it turning our cheaper than expected. Expect delivery by 5/12/06.

This decision was based upon discussion with DB personnel and individual research.

There is a security issue, but it seems that this may not affect us due to the version we are acquiring. The only versions affected are from version 6 and earlier. In the team briefing the following was discussed:

* Current Status

* Selection of DB (reason on the selection/expected arrival of product)

* User gui interface design plans

* Questions & Answers

A question of concern did rise on the versatility regarding multiple users in the database at the same time. This was noted and will be a key point in the testing phase. Management and the team were satisfied on the selection of the DB and are anxious to start working with FileMaker Pro.

Indicators

Currently we are on track with the project schedule. As long as we do not run into any problems that may take more that 72 hours to correct, I believe we will be able to complete the project on-time.
